It is about voting time once again. Along with entering the booth and drawing the line next to George W. Bush, I am also placing my mark of approval on California Proposition 68 and my disapproval for Proposition 70. I encourage all residents of California to research and weight the social-economical benefits of Proposition 68. The State, headed by Arnold, Lt. Governor Bustamante, and California Gambling Control Commission have come under pressure from large gaming interests (both outside the state and tribes within). Every compact negotiated with California tribes was sot to protect tribal rights and any kick back the state receives go to non-gaming tribes. Non-gaming tribes are not tribes that choose not to open up a casino, but merely have small casino (1,000 slot machines or less). We (California Residents) get nothing out of these new compacts. Proposition 68 gives us something.
